We decided to compare two games that have a similar mechanic - Take Santa's Shop and Take Olympus. You can also try Take the Bank - the first in the series of 'Take' slot games from Betsoft. Take Olympus

A love of ancient Greece isn't essential to enjoy this slot game, but it sure helps. We get a 5 x 4 format to contend with here. However, the background you see when you load the game could be one of four. That's because each God takes over the game for 10 spins, offering their own power each time. Whenever a set of 10 spins ends, the game begins with another set of spins from another god, randomly selected to keep things interesting.

You'll meet Apollo, Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, and Aphrodite along the way. The backdrop changes and so do the features in their spins. You could take advantage of wilds, multipliers, mystery boxes, and respins. Zeus is the wild, so he could help with any of the other rounds. Take Santa's Shop

This game predates the Olympus alternative, giving us a festive theme with a criminal in a festive striped top rather than Santa himself. You'll also see some tree ornaments in this one, but they only appear after the robber has appeared. When the first ornament turns up, it counts down from 10, staying in the corner of the symbol position it appeared in. Each later one appearing before the countdown ends carries on from the current number.

When the timer reaches zero, the bombs explode, leaving wilds behind them. You'll then see if that spin revealed any new prizes. We've regularly had spins that didn't give us anything… only to find the wilds appear to surprise us.
